St. Johns River State College recently issued the following announcement.

The talent and skills of visual arts students from the Florida School of the Arts (FloArts) will be showcased in the Juried Student Exhibition opening on Thursday, January 13 at 7:00

p.m. at the School’s main gallery located on the Palatka campus of St. Johns River State College (SJR State). The exhibition is free and open to the public and includes paintings,

drawings, sculpture, prints and digital work, which will be on display until February 8. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and during main stage

performances.

Artwork in the exhibit was judged by FloArts alumna Tiffany Sage, who recently relocated to the area from New York City, where she has been working as a photographer and

studio assistant for the renowned artist Jeff Koons. Students with first, second and third place submissions will receive awards at the gallery reception on the exhibition’s opening

night. FloArts invites the community to come out and meet the artists while enjoying a wide range of creative works.

Serving the entire state of Florida, FloArts is part of the academic and administrative structure of SJR State and awards associate degrees in acting, dance performance, musical

theater, stage management, theater technology, graphic design/new media and studio art. Admission is based on an audition or portfolio review, an interview with the faculty and

admission to SJR State.
