In less than a month, Dolphin alumni, families, students, and fans from across the country will return to campus to celebrate Jacksonville University’s 71st Homecoming & Family Weekend from Oct. 21 to 23.

The 2022 lineup will bring back some cherished traditions and introduce new activities for alumni and families to enjoy.

All day Friday, the Jacksonville Men’s and Women’s Rowing will host their signature annual fundraiser, Row Across Florida. Students, alumni, faculty and staff are invited to jump on a rowing erg at Swisher Science Green to help “row” the entire Florida coastline, which is 2,909,694 meters. You can sponsor a rower or join in on the fun!

Dolphins who have pre-registered will be able to take a one-hour tour on Jacksonville’s River Taxi, followed by a Parents & Families mixer at the River House Pub.

Friday evening, a Party at the Plaza Tailgate will lead into Phin Phever – our annual Homecoming pep rally at Swisher Gymnasium, featuring our talented men’s and women’s basketball student-athletes along with Dunk’n and Nellie. We will also crown our Big Phins on Campus (formerly called Miss Dolphina and Big Man on Campus), and recognize our 2022 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients at center court. Party at the Plaza begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by Phin Phever at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday morning, Green Key, JU’s longest-standing student group comprised of the University’s highest achieving students, will induct its newest members during the traditional Green Key Breakfast in the newly-named Moran Center.

Later that morning, our Class of 1972 will reunite at Kinne Plaza to celebrate their 50th reunion and induction into the Green & Gold Guard, receiving their medallions from President Cost to commemorate the milestone. Stein College will recognize recipients of the Honored Alumni Awards during a luncheon in Terry Concert Hall in the afternoon.

The Saturday on the St. Johns tradition continues from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Guests can enjoy unbeatable riverfront views from Negaard Rowing Center, a BBQ lunch and live music. In the evening, the party continues in The Grove with the Homecoming & Family Weekend Campus Carnival and Tailgate Party starting at 5 p.m. Enjoy carnival rides, inflatables, and a variety of food trucks, as alumni and families can prepare for the night’s events.

Following the Carnival & Tailgate Party, JU will take to the pitch at 7 p.m., as men’s soccer hosts Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN) rival Stetson at Southern Oak Stadium. Stick around immediately after the game to enjoy a fireworks show to end the night!

On Sunday morning, families can join President and Mrs. Cost oceanside at the Lodge & Club – Ponte Vedra Beach for a Farewell Beach Brunch. A photographer will be on hand to take commemorative family portraits (advanced reservations required).

On Sunday afternoon, it’s a JU takeover at TIAA Bank Field, with over 600 Dolphins attending the JUxJags Outing. Join the crowd and cheer on our home team as they take on the New York Giants at 1 p.m.
