If your small business experienced a drop in income due to Hurricane Ian or Nicole, the Small Business Administration can help you recover

Did your business experience a drop in income due to Hurricane Ian or Nicole?

Did you apply for an SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan after Ian or Nicole and were denied?

The Small Business Administration (SBA) is offering low-interest Economic Injury Disaster Loans to Clay County businesses that experienced a drop in income due to Hurricane Ian or Nicole. Small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and private non-profit organizations can apply for low-interest loans of up to $2 million to help meet working capital needs. These loans are available even if the business or non-profit did not have any physical damage from the hurricanes and can be used to cover operating expenses such as salaries, rent, and utilities. There is no cost to apply, no interest or payments for the first year, and a loan term of up to 30 years. After the first year, the interest rate for businesses is as low as 3.04% for Ian and 3.3% for Nicole; and for non-profits, the interest rate is 1.875% for Ian and 2.375% for Nicole. The deadline to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans is June 29 for Ian and September 13, 2023, for Nicole. Applications can be completed online at https://disasterloanassistance.sba.gov/ela/s/. More information is available through the SBA’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955.
