CLAY COUNTY FLORIDA: Clay County Road and Lane Closure Report October 10-16, 2020

Clay County Florida issued the following announcement.

Ongoing County Projects

CR 315-C from CR 214 to Putnam County Line- 2.74-mile project includes lane widening, adding paved shoulders, modifying driveway culverts, and resurfacing with a high friction overlay to reduce skid hazards.  Roadwork began on July 13, 2020 and is expected to be substantially complete in April of 2021.    

Haven Road in Green Cove Springs- A full detour is in place between Orion Road and Pringle Circle for a drainpipe replacement project that began in late-July. The project will take approximately 6 weeks to complete. 

FDOT Projects

Blanding Blvd Widening Project- Between Allie Murray Road and Long Bay Road- A new alignment of Long Bay Road and Blanding Boulevard is open to traffic. A segment of County Road 220 west at Blanding Boulevard closed to traffic on July 14, 2020 and will remain closed for several months as the contractor constructs a new alignment at this intersection. Motorists will be detoured via Long Bay Road and Blanding Boulevard. Anticipate nighttime lane closures through Saturday, October 10, from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.  for road work.  

Governors Creek Bridge- FDOT project to add sidewalks and make other improvements to U.S. 17 on the Governors Creek Bridge. Anticipate nighttime lane closures weeknights between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. for road work.

SR 21 Between Keystone Heights and Melrose- Resurfacing project began in May of 2020 on the 6.5 mile stretch between the Putnam County line, just north of Melrose, to north of Commercial Circle in Keystone Heights. The project will include shoulder widening, sidewalk and drainage improvements, and other incidental construction. Motorists should anticipate daytime and nighttime construction activities throughout the course of the project. Construction is expected to be completed Spring 2021.

First Coast Expressway Work FDOT

County Road 15-A Overlay for Equipment Crossing for First Coast Expressway from East of CR 209 to North of SR 16- Contractor will be laying 2 inches of asphalt to prevent rutting from equipment crossing during construction. The project is scheduled for Monday, October 12, 2020, weather permitting, and will be competed in one day. Two-lane, Two-way travel will continue during the project.  

County Road 209 east of U.S. 17 - Daytime lane closures with flaggers weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for road work.

Sandridge Road from State Road 23 to Rolling View Boulevard – Daytime lane closures with flaggers Monday, October 12, through Saturday, October 17, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for road work.

Spring Bank Road just south of State Road 16 - Daytime lane closures with flaggers weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and nighttime lane closures weeknights from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for road work.

State Road 16 west of Green Cove Springs - Daytime lane closures with flaggers weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for road work.

U.S. 17 south of Green Cove Springs - Daytime lane closures weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and nighttime lane closures weeknights from 6 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. for road work.
