Clay County Florida issued the following announcement.
On Tuesday, November 24, the Clay County Board of County Commissioners (BCC) welcomed three newly elected Commissioners to serve four-year terms.
Commissioner Jim Renninger, representing District 3, is a retired U.S. Navy Pilot who worked as a financial planner and as Director of the Aviation Center of Excellence at Cecil Airport. He has a long history of service to the community being elected three times to Orange Park Town Council, serving nine years, including two terms as Mayor, as Vice Mayor, and as Councilman. Commissioner Renninger also served as the President of Northeast Florida League of Cities.
Commissioner Betsy Condon, representing District 4, is a native of Keystone Heights and owns a manufacturing business with her husband. Condon earned a bachelor's degree in environmental health from the University of Georgia and has 15 years of experience in environmental compliance. She is a former member of the Clay County School Board and currently volunteers on the Capital City Bank Community Board and is a member of the Keystone Heights Rotary Club and Keystone United Methodist Church. She and her husband Joe have 3 sons and 2 rescue dogs.
Commissioner Kristen Burke, representing District 5, received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of North Florida. She received her doctorate in Chiropractic Medicine (DC) from Life University in Marietta, Georgia, and is a long-time business owner of Fleming Island Family Chiropractic on East-West Parkway. She and her family have been active members of Russell Baptist Church on Sandridge Road for the past 20 years.
All newly elected Commissioners were sworn in by Circuit Judge Don H. Lester at 3:30 p.m. with their family in attendance. Commissioner Renninger was joined by his wife Dr. Phyllis Renninger; Commissioner Condon was joined by her husband Joe Condon; and Commissioner Burke was joined by her husband Harold Burke, as they took their oath.
Re-elected Commissioner Mike Cella, representing District 1, will also be serving a four-year term and Commissioner Wayne Bolla, representing District 2, will continue to serve out his second term.
During the BCC meeting, Commissioner Mike Cella was elected as Chairman of the Board and Commissioner Wayne Bolla was as elected Vice-Chair.
County Manager Howard Wanamaker said, “We are excited to have three new Commissioners on the Board and look forward to working with them over the next four years to serve their constituents and all residents of Clay County.”
