CLAY COUNTY FLORIDA: Department of Health in Clay County Begins Phase One of Covid-19 Vaccinations

Vaccination

Clay County Florida issued the following announcement.

On Monday, December 28, the Florida Department of Health in Clay County (DOH – Clay) received their first shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for distribution to Phase 1 priority groups, following Governor Desantis’ Executive Order 20-315. Phase 1 priority groups include residents and staff of long-term care facilities and high-risk frontline health care workers.

DOH – Clay and Clay County Emergency Management will operate a COVID-19 Vaccination Point of Distribution (POD) at the UF/IFAS Extension Clay County T. Jesse Godbold Building, 2463 SR 16 west, Green Cove Springs, FL. Initial doses will be provided to high-risk front-line health care workers such as Paramedics and Department of Health staff who will be providing direct care at the COVID-19 vaccination POD.

Beginning Monday, January 4, 2021, the COVID-19 Vaccination POD will provide the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine by appointment only for:

  • Individuals aged 65 and older
  • Health care workers
Vaccination appointments will be available in 15-minute increments from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be scheduled for individuals that meet the above Phase 1 priority criteria at Alert.ClayCountyGov.com. You must have an appointment and show ID or proof of healthcare employment to receive the no cost vaccination.

Two vaccinations are required to obtain immunity to COVID-19. You will need to schedule the second appointment at Alert.ClayCountyGov.com.

Until the COVID-19 vaccination POD is open to all Clay County residents, continue to employ mitigation strategies: socially distance and avoid large crowds, wear a face covering, and wash your hands.
