Clay County Florida issued the following announcement.
On Monday, December 28, the Florida Department of Health in Clay County (DOH – Clay) received their first shipment of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for distribution to Phase 1 priority groups, following Governor Desantis’ Executive Order 20-315. Phase 1 priority groups include residents and staff of long-term care facilities and high-risk frontline health care workers.
DOH – Clay and Clay County Emergency Management will operate a COVID-19 Vaccination Point of Distribution (POD) at the UF/IFAS Extension Clay County T. Jesse Godbold Building, 2463 SR 16 west, Green Cove Springs, FL. Initial doses will be provided to high-risk front-line health care workers such as Paramedics and Department of Health staff who will be providing direct care at the COVID-19 vaccination POD.
Beginning Monday, January 4, 2021, the COVID-19 Vaccination POD will provide the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine by appointment only for:
- Individuals aged 65 and older
- Health care workers
Two vaccinations are required to obtain immunity to COVID-19. You will need to schedule the second appointment at Alert.ClayCountyGov.com.
Until the COVID-19 vaccination POD is open to all Clay County residents, continue to employ mitigation strategies: socially distance and avoid large crowds, wear a face covering, and wash your hands.
