Clay County recently issued the following announcement.
The temporary suspension of recycling curbside collection will affect residents in unincorporated areas of Clay County and the City of Keystone Heights beginning Monday, August 16, 2021. Residents within the city limits of the Town of Orange Park, City of Green Cove Springs, and the Town of Penney Farms will not be affected. Garbage collection will also not be affected for all Clay County residents.
This suspension allows collection teams to ‘reset’ yard waste collection and return to a normalized schedule. Two weeks following this reset, scheduled collection may be slightly delayed due to the backlog of materials needed to be picked up. Collection of yard waste is expected to return to regular schedules no later than August 30.
On Monday, August 16:
Normal yard waste will be collected for Monday routes
Large debris collection trucks will begin picking up loose limb piles on Tuesday routes
On Tuesday, August 17:
Normal yard waste will be collected for Tuesday routes
Large debris collection trucks will begin picking up loose limb piles on Wednesday routes
This system will continue until all yard waste collection routes are back on schedule.
