Bolles School issued the following announcement on Sept. 30.
Sixth grade English students in Joy Chatani and Alicia Henderson's classes on the Middle School Bartram Campus presented their September Book of the Month projects this
week in a gallery walk. At the beginning of the month, the students chose between either historical fiction or mystery genres and read their selected novel for four weeks. Students
learned about plot, setting and characterization in class using their independent novels to contribute to class discussions. The sixth graders then create a paper bag
characterization project, finding ten objects to represent the main character. In October, students will choose from sci-fi, fantasy or fractured fairy tale genres and projects will focus
on symbolism.
