Public Comment Meeting to Discuss Grant Submission: Replacement of the 180-ft long fishing pier at Doctors Lake, bulkhead replacement, addition of a kayak launch, and parking lot paving

Clay County issued the following announcement on Sept. 29.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Clay County Board of County Commissioners (BCC), will hold a public comment meeting on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. to discuss the BCC’s grant submission to the Florida Recreation Development Assistance Program (FRDAP). The Program is funded by the State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) allocation as described in Section 375.075, Florida Statutes.

The BCC plans on submitting the following application to the FRDAP to fund a project that will benefit Clay County:

Replacement of the 180-ft long fishing pier at Doctors Lake, bulkhead replacement, addition of a kayak launch, and parking lot paving. The estimated funding request for this project is $120,000.

Members of the public are invited to attend and be heard at the meeting which will be held at the Fleming Island Library, 1895 Town Center Blvd., on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Additionally, the public may submit comments through the BCC’s website at www.claycountygov.com/government/doctors-lake-park-survey or via email to megan.mosley@claycountygov.com during the online public comment period which began Wednesday, September 29, and will close on Wednesday, October 13 at close of business. Agencies, groups, and members of the public are invited and encouraged to share their ideas and comments with County staff.
