8

Bolles School recently issued the following announcement.

Organizers of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COPS26), the most influential environmental conference in the world, have invited students from The Bolles

School to participate as delegates in the Educate section of the summit run by the New York Times.

The conference is being held October 31-November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland, where attendees will be discussing the global response to climate change. Most world leaders will be

in attendance and the group will negotiate cutting greenhouse gas emissions and mapping out how the world faces the next 30 years.

Bolles students have the opportunity to participate in three virtual presentations on Friday, November 5: “From Climate Change to Change-Making: Firing Up Youth Activism;”

“Climate Tech Will Be Bigger Than the Internet Revolution;” and “Reboot the Future: How Do We Move Faster, Together?”

Participating students will be taking notes and prepared to join a steerage committee to put forward proposals that ensure Bolles student voices will be heard in one of the most

important debates of our time. Bolles Speech and Debate team coach and English teacher Marie Kervin is eliciting interest from all upper school students including speech, debate

and mock trial participants.
