County of Clay recently issued the following announcement.
Clay County celebrated Farm-City Week at the 49th Annual Farm-City Luncheon held on November 22, 2021, at the Clay County Fairgrounds Cattlemen’s Arena to recognize the
beneficial partnerships that contribute to a safe and abundant food supply. Approximately $10,000 in scholarships were awarded to Clay County FFA students in celebration of
Youth in Agriculture.
Attendees heard presentations from young agricultural entrepreneur Taylor Thigpen, a 4-H member and owner of Plant King USA, and Dr. J.C Bunch, Associate Professor and
Associate Department Chair of the UF Department of Agricultural Education and Communication.
Gayward Hendry, Clay County Farm Bureau President, and Annie Sheldon Wallau, County Extension Director, led the program.
