Bolles School recently issued the following announcement.
A group of 11 students from Madrid’s Colegio San Agustín arrived at Bolles this weekend for their weeklong visit to Northeast Florida. They are accompanied by Colegio San
Agustín faculty chaperones David Reyes and Veronica Arroyo Ureña.
Bolles President and Head of School Tyler Hodges and other administrators and faculty welcomed the group to Bolles during a mid-morning reception on the River Patio.
Following his remarks, students enjoyed connecting with Bolles peers, tasting refreshments and listening to several Bolles students share poetry readings in Spanish. Later in the
day, the Spanish exchange students engaged in riverfront yoga led by Spanish teacher and yoga instructor Adriana Stam. They also attended a specialty class, "Florida History."
Students are staying with local host families for the duration of their trip and attend classes with Bolles students during the day. They also have several trips planned to various
locales around the region -- including a trip to a place sharing their name, St. Augustine, FL -- as they absorb local culture and practice their English language skills. They plan to
take a field trip to downtown jacksonville and the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens on Thursday.
