We are pleased to announce that we are launching a Detention Deputy Sponsorship Program! This program will cover tuition and expenses for successful applicants to attend the full-time Corrections Academy.
The position of Detention Deputy is responsible for the care and custody of incarcerated persons in the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Qualified candidates may apply for a limited number of paid sponsorships to attend a correctional academy to become a Detention Deputy. Selection will be made through a competitive process. Detention Deputy Cadets will be paid $16.88 an hour while attending the academy. After successfully completing the academy, a detention deputy’s salary is $41,044.42 annually. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, be a U.S. citizen, and possess a valid Florida driver's license and high school diploma or equivalent.
