Clay County community partners are holding a community Opioid Overdose Awareness Seminar at First Baptist Middleburg on Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Everyone is invited to attend this event, which will bring awareness about opioid overdose issues in Clay County, and resources for treatment and recovery.
The networking reception with food will begin at 5:30 p.m. followed by the seminar from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
This seminar will bring together a panel of experts from the community for a discussion about the effects of opioid use and overdoses in Clay County, as well as personal stories of loss and recovery from Clay County residents. Participants will be provided with real-time data, strategies to reduce access to opioids, and resources for treatment and recovery available in Clay County.
The event moderator is TJ Ward with Project Opioid Jax, and panelists will include Clay County Sheriff's Office Director Wayne McKinney, Clay County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Glenn East, Clay County District Schools Superintendent David Broskie, and Orange Park Hospital Director of Pharmacy Dr. Jodie A Graves, Pharm. D., HCA FL.
