Neill Places Top-10 to Lead Dolphins at Wolfpack Intercollegiate

Jacksonville University men's golf came home seventh in the Wolfpack Invitational, which wrapped with final round action from Lonnie Poole Golf Course on Sunday.

Jack Neill recorded his first top-10 finish of his career, placing T7 to lead the Dolphins.

Neill registered a pair of birdies on the front nine, to go with five pars. He added one more red number and five more pars to close out the round. He led the field in Par-3 scoring, shooting 4-under on the weekend. His Par-4 scoring was also the best on the team, shooting even in the event on such holes. His 14 birdies were second-most in the field as well.

Alexandre Vandermoten joined Neill in the top-25, placing T21 for his third top-25 finish through the first four tournaments of the season. He sank consecutive birdies on the third and fourth holes of the day, and also had five pars on the front nine. His back nine was steady, with four straight pars to open the back and three more to close out his round. He led the Dolphins in Par-5 scoring, shooting 1-under for the weekend.

Joseph Sullivan had the best round of the day for a Dolphin, a one-over 73. He started hot, with three birdies in his first six holes. He had another birdie on hole 14, along with six pars to wrap the day.

Filip Raza sank two birdies in a row on holes two and three total in the round, also making nine pars. Josef Hacker had two birdies and eight pars and Brandon Valvano matched him. Hacker was also the second-best scorer on Par-3s, behind only his teammate Neill, shooting 3-under for the tournament.

Jacksonville was the third best team in the field on Par-4s and in total birdies made, with 49 total.

The Dolphins wrap the fall portion of the schedule at the Daniel Island Intercollegiate, which starts on Oct. 31 in Daniel Island, S.C.
