In observance of the Veterans Day holiday, all Clay County Government Offices will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022. Closures will include the County Administration Building and Public Works Department, Clerk of Court and Comptroller’s Office, Clay County Courthouse, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, Supervisor of Elections, and Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Administration Offices. Offices will reopen and resume scheduled hours on Monday, November 14, 2022.  

• The Rosemary Hill Solid Waste Management Facility and Environmental Convenience Centers will be open on Friday, November 11, and operating normal business hours, (7:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.) The administrative offices will be closed. Waste Management will collect garbage and yard waste as usual.Please remember to place materials at the curb before 6 a.m.
•  All Clay County Public Library Branches will be closed on Friday, November 11. No materials will be due on that day. Libraries will reopen on Saturday, November 12 at 9 a.m. Our digital library is always open. The library catalog and digital resources are always available at https://www.claycountygov.com/community/library.
• Clay County Animal Services will be closed to the public on Friday, November 11. The shelter will reopen on Saturday, November 12 at 11 a.m. View photos of adoptable animals at the shelter anytime here: https://www.claycountygov.com/community/animal-services/adoption.

Veterans Day is a federal holiday observed annually on November 11, for honoring all military veterans who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. The veterans Day Moment of Silence Act was passed in July 2015 calling for two minutes of silence every Veterans Day to recognize and reflect on the service and sacrifice of all veterans, past, and present. The set time of 2:11 PM EST allows for all 50 states and Puerto Rico to take part simultaneously.
