Josie Rill / Senior Student | Bishop Kenny High School

Congratulations to Senior Josie Rill ‘23, Bishop Kenny’s January Student of the Month.  Josie was selected for Academics, Initiative & Commitment.  Josie is very focused and has worked hard for all that she has achieved as a Crusader.  She shared, “I learned how to push myself at Bishop Kenny.” Adding, “I like leadership roles and found many clubs and organizations to become involved in during my time at BK that helped me develop my skills set.”

Josie has a rigorous academic schedule and is also very involved in extra-curricular activities. She is a two-sport athlete, running in the fall with the cross-country team and in the spring with the track & field team.  Josie is the treasurer of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Vice President of the Mu Alpha Theta, and President of the A.C.E. Mentorship Program. She is also a member of the National Honor Society, Rho Kappa, English, Science, and Spanish Honor Societies. Josie is an active member of the Anchor, History, and Science Clubs. She is a National Merit Commended student, served as a representative with the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State, and a participant in the National Chemistry Olympiad.

Josie was recently accepted to Wake Forest University and will pursue a major in bio-medical engineering.  She would like to work in bio-tech design and further her education in that field.  She credits the A.C.E. Mentorship program, under the direction of Mrs. Gallup, with helping her to learn about the different engineering fields.  This exposure helped her narrow her focus for college.
