Rogers Claims First In 400M At Uofsc Indoor Open

Jacksonville University women's track and field program traveled to Columbia, South Carolina to compete in the South Carolina Invitational Feb 3-4. Joanna Rogers shined for the Dolphins claiming first place in the 400m dash with a time of 56.33.   

 Freshman Mariandree Chacon finished with a time of 7.60, a personal best in the women's 60m dash. Teammate Angelnique Bryant finished 7 seconds after her with a time of 7.67, which is also a season best. Cassie Thompson ran a personal best in the 60m dash with a time of 7.46. In the 60m hurdles, Joy Whittington ran a personal best with a time of 9.23.   

On the distance side Hayleigh Haid placed seventh in the 1 mile run with a time of 4:56.05 which is a season best. Mya Bodrato also ran the mile with a time of 5:28.58, making that a season best.   

Alana Lecointe placed ninth in the women's shot put. Julie Sue- Kam Ling jumped a season best 5.46m in the women's long jump. Sela Gur- Arie jumped a season best 11.04 in the women's triple jump in her season opener.
