Twelve Bolles upper school students put their international knowledge to the test at the 18th Annual Admiral Jonathan T. Howe Academic WorldQuest February 9 at the University of North Florida's Adam W. Herbert University Center.

Academic WorldQuest, a flagship program of the World Affairs Council network, is a team game testing competitors' knowledge of international affairs, geography, history and culture through six rounds of six questions each. All of the questions are multiple choice, and students use clickers to input their answers.

The World Affairs Council of Jacksonville began its own Academic WorldQuest in 2005, with this year’s competition growing to include 24 First Coast high schools and 58 teams.

Bolles Director of Global Learning and Engagement Natalia Aycart broke the following students into three teams to represent the School at the competition: Mayra Grajales ’26, Roman Pleasant Davis ’26, Cyrus Vaghefi ’26, Esha Kasavaraju ’26, Christina Dovellos ’25, Abby Bradley ’25, Soumya Kondu ’25, Alyona Chugay ’24, Ashkon Shirazi ’24, Madeline Kaiser ’24, Campbell Ford ’23 and Daniel Waheed ’23.

These students were tested on the following topics:

• Atrocity Prevention and Accountability
• Battle of the Century: Autocracy vs. Democracy
• Economic Sanctions - A Double-edged Sword
• Great Decisions
• The Arctic Council: Frozen Cooperation
• The Future of Supply Chains
