David Harrell / speaker and disability advocate | Bolles School
International award-winning actor, speaker and disability advocate David Harrell visited the Bolles Middle School Bartram Campus and both lower school campuses March 16-17. During his presentations, Harrell shared his journey of growing up without his right hand, playing the roles of his parents, grandfather, doctors, peers and himself during the performances.
He used his personal experiences to highlight shared human experiences and bring awareness to physical disability in his life and in the world. Harrell’s powerful message of perseverance was received by Whitehurst Campus students in Grades 2-5, Ponte Vedra Beach Campus students in Pre-K through Grade 5 and the entire middle school student body.
Students and faculty had the opportunity to reflect with their teachers and classmates after the performance.
