Bolles School recently issued the following announcement.
As they have for many years past, second graders on the Bolles Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus supported Fernandina Beach-based nonprofit Project Chance with a
tail-wagging project. In addition to bringing in fleece material and making blankets in the campus iLab, students collected pet supplies and other resources for the organization –
which connects service dogs to children with autism. “Students learned about the importance of service dogs to those with disabilities,” said teacher Kim Loving, who spearheaded
the initiative with second grade teacher Katherine Bole.
Representatives from Project Chance – including four-legged guests Fozzie, Oakley and Harlow – came to campus December 6 to receive the blanket and supplies collection.
They talked to students about the importance of their work and share some warm fuzzy holiday love in return!
Project Chance has a mission to provide clinically prescribed, relatively and professionally trained service dogs with the specific skill needed to aid children diagnosed with autism
and other developmental disabilities; so that those children will be able to achieve maximum potential and independence in executing therapeutic, social and physical tasks at a
