Jacksonville University recently issued the following announcement.

Jacksonville University head women’s basketball coach Darnell Haney has announced the signing of combo guard, Ky’shonna Brown, out of Josey High School in Augusta, Georgia.

Brown stands at 5’10” and has the ability to combine pure athleticism and a scorers mentality to provide the Dolphins with a significant spark. She provides the team with great length and wingspan, a solid mid-range jumper, and can finish in traffic. Her abilities to dribble, pass, shoot, and defend on all ends made her a great choice for the future of this team.

The physical abilities combined with her intelligence will provide the Dolphins with leadership on and off the court as well. Coach Haney and the rest of the staff are excited about this signing. “Ky’shonna is the epitome of a winner…. we definitely got a gem with KB” stated Coach Haney.

That doesn’t come lightly either, Brown is a two-time state champion and valedictorian of her class, boasting a 4.1 GPA while dually enrolled in college courses. Her impact reaches well beyond the court and that is exactly what this Dolphins staff is looking for.  Brown will continue adding to the Georgia-native filled team, becoming the fifth member of the Dolphins team to come out of Georgia. Chemistry will be a key aspect to look for in the coming future of this team.
